On Tuesday, 15 June 2004, the Backgammon Club of San Diego met. A tournament was inevitable.

Tournament News

10 people a 16-player bracket on Tuesday night. We had the following tournament results:

Main Tournament (16 player bracket)
  • First place:   Bruce Haight

  • Second place:  Vito Volpetti

  • Third place:   Jason Lee

    • Bruce Haight won the tournament -- marking the fourth time this year he's won a tournament or split for first place. Vito Volpetti took second place, which is the first time Vito has placed in a tournament at the BCSD. Good job, Vito!

    Sho Sengoku finally failed to make it to the finals for the first time in a while. Sho had a streak of six consecutive appearances in the tournament finals snapped this week.

    By winning the tournament, Bruce Haight has passed Jason Lee and Adrian Costa to move into 2nd place overall. Bruce is eight points behind Sho Sengoku for first place overall.

    The point leader at the end of the year will be named the BCSD Player of the Year, and the top 16 in the Master Point standings will be invited to the 2004 BCSD Tournament of Champions, to be held in early 2005.

    53rd Gammon Associates Invitational

    The 53rd Gammon Associates Invitational was held at the A.R. Private Club in Beverly Hills, California, over the weekend of June 11-13. Here is a wrap-up of the big tournament.
