2004 Tournament of Champions

The point leader at the end of the year will be named the BCSD Player of the Year. The top 16 (among paid members in good standing) in the 2004 Point Race are invited to the 2004 BCSD Tournament of Champions.

Whatever funds the club has at the end of the year (from memberships) after paying expenses will be returned according to the following schedule:

Please note that you may be able to qualify for the TOC even if you don't finish in the Top 16 in Master points. If anybody among the Top 16 does not show up for the TOC, then we'll fill in spots as needed from the remaining people on the list. Also, there will be a regular tournament on the side. Nonqualifiers and people eliminated from the TOC can enter the regular tournament.

The format of the TOC will be double elimination, with 9 point matches in the main bracket and 5 point matches in the consolation bracket. A double elimination format will take longer, but gives people the opportunity to lose once and still have a chance at the championship. In all cases, late starting matches will be clocked according to a pre-defined schedule.
